Breathing Into the Light
About the Book
What if the experiences that nearly broke you became the very path leading you back to yourself, and to the truth that you were never alone?
For years, Pamela Verner lived on the edge of despair, betrayal, loss, codependency and shame, while struggling to trust deep spiritual experiences she had since childhood. She knew what it was to feel powerless—to lose herself in another’s addiction, to have her trust violated by the psychotherapist she turned to for help, and to remain silent when everything within her was calling her to use her voice.
When life pushed her to the breaking point, Pamela made a choice: she would no longer allow fear or what happened to her determine who she is and who she becomes.
She confronted her codependency while her husband entered recovery for his alcoholism. She fought back against the unethical therapist, suing him, winning, and pulling his license. In doing all this, she challenged inherited family patterns and confronted sexism and victim blaming. She went back to college, eventually graduating from graduate school and becoming a psychotherapist herself, helping others struggling with addiction, codependency, and trauma.
Then a life-threatening horseback riding accident opened another door. Pamela found she could no longer dismiss intuitive and mystical experiences she kept largely private since childhood. What began as psychological recovery expanded into a profound spiritual search and recovery involving consciousness, ancestry, forgiveness, dreams, spiritual guides, angels, past-life experiences, soul-retrieval, and the possibility that our lives are connected to something far greater than ourselves—a Universal Love. Pamela discovered that every person is held within an immeasurable field of Universal Love and much of our suffering comes from believing ourselves separate from that love.
In Breathing Into the Light, Pamela shares the experiences that led her to:
For anyone who has ever felt lost, betrayed, silenced, disconnected, or defined by the past, Breathing Into the Light is an invitation to rediscover your connection to something greater and begin the journey back to your own soul.
